I'm so glad to find somebody else who likes the dBs, or has
even heard of the dBs. Their history proves again that having
great songs and great performances doesn't guarantee
commercial success - not that Baerwald fans need proof of
that.As to Canadian residency protecting someone against the the
draft, you're quite right;it doesn't. My thought is that if a
young person were in a Canadian school, it would be less
disruptive to his life to dodge the draft by simply staying
where he was when the greetings letter comes. I didn't move
to Canada in 1972 only because I flunked the draft physical,
which was tough to do. If the draft kicks in again, I expect a
lot of young Americans will be heading north for good.
Thinking about Canadian colleges now is merely a way to
develop options.
