Yes Clinton was the leader - with a republican house and senate who wanted his hide tacked up on a wall - Try getting a declaration of war through that amid the chants of 'wag the dog'.
As for protests, they were scattered and attended by "the Usual Suspects" and not much more. I can't agree with your assertion That "most" were against Afganistan - I sure as hell wasn't. Compared to the width and breasth of the Iraq Protests, there is no comparison.
