Kerry is the one who opened the door to this by directly attacking Bush's response to 9-11.
Considering that this was the biggest thing to happen on Bush's watch, I do not see how anyone could realistically expect that we would get through this election without bringing it up.
I had no doubt that the Dems would try and make a deal about this because they are scared that Bush reminding people of 9-11 will not work in thier favor.
