Here is a Reuters link to a recent article....http://www.townhall.com/columnists/robertnovak/printrn20040304.shtmlWhat does everyone think?Personally, I am concerned over such use and think it is out of bounds. But a couple of things really bother me. The first is where those who developed them and politcal strategists say things like, "They are done in good taste", when we have families who lost members who are quite upset. The next issue is the claim of "we have to remind people that 9/11 happened." This is quite cynical to me. I do not think 99 per cent of Americans need reminded of this and will never forget 9/11 and to continue to use 9/11 is a craven ploy for obvious political gain. And one last angle......I can only imagine the response from the Republicans if Kerry used images of 9/11 in an ad with the following voice over: "On Sept 9, 2001, America was attacked by terrorists killing 3,000 people. Instead of leading this country in a true war against terrorism and those responsible, George Bush used this tragic event to carry out a war with Iraq. He played upon our fears and worries and used faulty intelligence with 9/11 as the base for this war."Both sides should reexamine their use of 9/11. Opinions?
