I have a problem with any co-worker making inappropriate comments. I find it irritating when during a demonstration of an issue I support, some goofball calls attention to themself and possibly negatively affects the message trying to be sent.
It becomes very easy to label others and that label becomes part of what bothers you. I see and hear it often, people use labels based on another person's race, ethnicity, country of origin, sexual preference, etc. to further their point or issue.
Its very important to separate the two.
Are you bothered by gays or are you bothered by people hitting on you who you are not attrtacted to and people acting outrageously? I've spoken with too many who will say something along the lines of "I don't have a problem with all blacks just the lazy ones" . . . that is a flat out racist statement, now if someone said I have a problem with lazy people, different story. I perceive your statements just as bigoted and homophobic.
and I'm really disappointed in Pat's comments regarding his beliefs . . .
