Reg, I'm not the most articulate person on this board, but don't you see my gripe with his comments?
My dear friend, you have to understand that at the root of homophobia, is straight men's discomfort with the gay community's flamboyance and strong theatrical nature and of course the very act of anal sex.
Now when I hear (or read) a comment on how homosexuals are fine as long as they keep their flamboyance and or sexual nature at bay, I can only laugh it off, get mad, or defend my fellow dykes and fairies. I've heard those comments made by many a man before Dale and will most likely hear many more. The Heterosexual Community has many ways and means of depicting their sexual flamboyance in every day life. So a leather daddy decides to wear a leather thong at a Gay Pride parade and Dale is turned off by the sight, What does that have to do with the Gay Community at large? I see beyond the shock value, just like every day of my life were I see straight men and women flaunting their sexuality in the Press, Movies, TV, Music, etc. and at the local Mall. Why can't we do the same, one day out of the year? I've seen far more shocking behavior done by heterosexuals in every day life then I have at a Gay Pride parade, and that doesn't tarnish my perception of Heterosexuals?
So ladies, please keep your tities covered,, because we don't want to offend gay men. It's sa silly arguement, no?
Cheers, Kevin (a FAG from AZ)
