Just an update. No more than maybe 100 bucks on the actual plumbing repair...now I wish I'd done it myself. The original plumbing was crap. Just put a new elbow joint in there and we're good as new. Now drying the carpet and the drywall to prevent against mold and mildew, that's what's gonna cost us.
Grrrr. Life was SO much easier when I was 20 and only had to worry about getting laid and finding beer.
