I don't see my friend, Bernie, calling for socialism (though I'm sure others will disagree).  I do think he justifiably laments the loss of a societal sense of shared responsibility for those in need.  

As to the new (and final) Joe Strummer CD,  stylistically it's all over the place with Joe's voice never having sounded so simultaneously world-weary but hopeful. It's powerful, passionate and totally alive; a fitting goodbye from a guy who stayed true to his ideals. I guess that's an endorsement.
