Come on Gene, do you really believe that? We already occupy the country and have rebuilt most of the infrastructure (including the oilfields), but I have yet to see one news report about tankers going to Iraq and loading up oil for the journey back to Amerikka.
Granted, oil is going to be Iraq's economic saviour, so yes in that regard I guess it was a strategic interest.
