When I first clicked on that Washington Post link, it struck me how all the solid black silhouettes appeared, and then they gradually all take the form of those fallen heroes. I think far too many of us are thinking of them as faceless numbers, insignificant statistically compared to our population.
A few days ago my favorite local newscaster made the point every half hour to remind us that that day would have been a WI girl's 20th birthday. She was killed on Oct 26.
I'm not sure right now what gets me more upset - their faces, or having to see that coward president pretend to honor them today.
