Just picked it up - and it's unbelievable. What nads, what fervor, it's what America should be all about had we not seemingly turned into a bunch of flag waving blind fools led by a band of hyper-idiots. 

Steve doesn't back down from a thing, just blasts away with both barrels. The album's forward alone made me say "fuck ya" at least three times. He immediately identifies the parallels between this new war and Vietnam. Best of all it's dated July 4, 2002.

On Amerika 6.0 (The Best We Can Do) he laments our loss of rebellious thought and action "I remember when we was both out on the boulevard talkin' revolution and singin' the blues - Nowadays letters to the editor and cheatin' on our taxes is the best we can do".

In Conspiracy Theory “Hush now, don’t you believe it. Cover your head and close your eyes. Now Take it or leave it. Go back to bed now don’t you cry”.

Then of course there’s John Walker Blues, written from John Walker Lindh’s perspective. This one already has been torched, unheard, by more people than any Eminem song could ever muster. I guess, since it doesn’t call for his head on a stick it must be praising him.

On What’s a Simple Man to Do he lashes out at the economic hardships that make the war on drugs such a sad one.

On The Truth  he’s on to the utter hopelessness of the prison system.
