I'm really not cynical. But I think the 'inflection point' happened on Jan 6th when he was not tried and convicted of treason. Anything beyond that is our descent - some times rapid (the musk intervention) and some times lingering (the bastardization of the ACIP group that recommends vaccine additions or changes). But I'm with you with the sustained unhealthy level of outrage.
I go with another board post / quote from David from Jan 2025 which I bookmarked -
We are likely going to see many heartbreaking things in the coming years. Along with those, we will see a continuing effort to replace truth with authoritarian-serving lies. These lies are a virus, and they have already infected millions. Bear witness. Be true, be honest, and do not stop.
