There's been talk of an ICE detention center coming to the town I teach in. It may or may not come to fruition but last Thursday, I was among several hundred other protesters who showed up with signs, good cheer, and a rendition of This Land Is Your Land. The event underscored the absolute necessity to get together, en masse, to lift each other up and to push back as best we can! These are the folks you want for neighbors: peaceful, patriotic and empowered. No sign of AR-15 tee shirts, no wild-eyed glaring, and a total absence of Rutherford B. Hayes facial hair!
We watched Nuremberg over the weekend. A solid effort, with a great performance from Russell Crowe as Hermann Goring. One powerful message from the film was to demonstrate the allies commitment to the rule of law! Only a fool wouldn't recognize the contrast in governmental integrity on display then as opposed to the complete absence of it under Trump.
Dan: Please forgive my oversight but I only recently realized the post you made a few weeks ago regarding the health scare your dad had. How is he doing?
Kevin G. : I was so impressed with your post, and the blog you linked to. We're lucky to have you here, sir!
Kathryn: You had asked my thoughts regarding Paul Kelly's sequel to his masterpiece, How To Make Gravy. Well, I think it was a good solid effort, but rarely does the sequel live up to the original, especially one so staggeringly brilliant!
DSlacker/Greenland: I can't believe we're actually searching for a "Hands off Greenland" lawn sign! WTF! And it has 57,000 residents, and Denmark only has 6 million residents
And EEE, and Reg, come on guys, Dan has tidied up the joint, extended the hours, changed the menu, and hired some new waitstaff, and the juke box? Incomparable!
