Okay, first GP, the once great rocker, and then, the GP, the once possibly off his rocker!

If you're reading this and aren't familiar with the music of Graham Parker and The Rumour, then please, take note of my recommendations from the early years, when GP could do no musical wrong. From 1976-1979, he and the mighty Rumour, were swinging for the fences, and typically hitting out of the park. Their work ranks with the best of that period, and I'm talking Costello, The Clash, and Springsteen. In fact, Bruce's quote about Graham appeared in Rolling Stone: "The only singer who I would pay money to see is Graham Parker." Crank up Pourin It All Out, Heat Treatment, Don't Ask Me Questions, Soul on Ice, and Passion is No Ordinary Word. Next, dig deep into those brilliant first four albums: Howlin' Wind, Heat Treatment, Stick To Me, and Squeezing Out Sparks. I have to confess that I stayed with Graham long after those first four albums, but his breaking with the Rumour, combined with what I think was a decline in his songwriting and backing bands, have disappointed me. On other thing, GP does a blazing version of "Hold Back The Night", a top 20 song for me.

Now up to the great state of Maine, home to my favorite beach, Ogunquit. I have relatives in Maine, all of whom despise Trump, and to a lesser degree, Susan Collins, but they truly do want  to see her leave the senate. One cousin is a solid Platner vote while the other looks like he'll go for Governor Janet Mills. We haven't gone into detail about Platner's past controversial statements and the notorious tattoo. I'm just thinking that there are more creepy statements waiting to come to light.
