I've heard a bit of what Behaved refers to, brentlind, but no, haven't read it. Sapolsky is a national treasure!  So much to read, so little time. Perhaps I should have enrolled in the Evelyn Wood speed reading program!

And a quick response if I may to Dan. He had asked if I ever incorporated music into my 6th grade classroom. Well, Dan, so often, the music that I've been drawn to simply wasn't appropriate for those young ears. "Heroin, it's my wife, and it's my life." Or those Elvis Costello tunes, so full of bile, but chock full of great puns! And The Clash, uh, ain't going to happen. I do recall using Thunder Road once, and I think it had to do with imagery in writing. You know, "A screen door slams, Mary's dress waves, like a vision she dances across the porch as the radio plays...". What could go wrong with this classic? Well, I recall a very religious paraeducator looking down her nose when certain lines were sung and then dissected, "Make crosses from your lovers", and even "You ain't a beauty but hey you're alright." And we certainly weren't going anywhere near "handsome Kevin" and his entrepreneurial ways!

And if DB is reading, a big CONGRATS on the publication date! I anticipate there will be great conversations here!
