That run of 3 albums - Life, Stand!, and There's a Riot Goin' On - is fantastic. Pure funk and rock and then fuzz and haze. There are some albums that provoke a sense of place or time for me - and even though I wasn't around when these albums came out - I like to think this is the California sound of the 60s. This and the Beach Boys of course.
