DB: And Pat, I don't see how a true Christian could do anything but embrace the great liberal values like Freedom, Justice, Honor, Respect for Life, For God's Precious Forests and Streams, For Innovation, for Hard Work, for Creativity, for Human Rights, for the True Patriotism of the Dissenter, for Prosperity, Balanced Budgets, and Living Within Our Means, and all the rest of the fine qualities that define your basic, God-loving liberal.

Peter T. (2025) Commenting: Twenty years ago, Pat appears to have been a one issue voter, with eliminating abortion at the top of his list. If you are indeed such a serious proponent of life, Pat, how do you reconcile Trump's dismantling USAID and the vaccine programs (malaria, AIDS, TB), and food programs that will surely result in tens of thousands, and possibly hundreds of thousands of deaths? Perhaps even a million or two! Where do you stand on the Trump administration's repeal of the Clean Water Rule? Rewriting rules that protect the air and water? People will die due to greater levels of contamination, Pat! Innocent people are surely sitting in that El Salvador gulag? Do their lives matter? When the GOP passes bills that cut Medicaid, Medicare, the Affordable Care Act, and SNAP, and Trump signs them, do you acknowledge that people will die, in great numbers? Any thoughts on Trump's banishing terms like "climate change" and "greenhouse gas emissions"? The loss of human life, forced migration, and enormous human suffering that will result from climate change will far exceed the number of abortions obtained over the course of many years.  I have to conclude that you truly do not care about human suffering, Pat.
