i used to do a pretty faithful cover of NOBODY back around '93. we sampled the album to get those sounds, which, as i mentioned to DB at Slim's, i somehow heard as 'heart attack, heart attack!'  please don't ask me how.
with the other mondegreens i've posted here previously, it would appear that all this rock and roll foolishness has sent/is sending my eardums all to heck.

i'll know i've made it when i get asked to do H.E.A.R. commercials...

(ps - gave HCTNFU to Hiatt after Friday's Fillmore show, which was incredible. hope he likes it; if he gives it a good listen, he will. he's playing House of Blues in LA Tues or Weds night, check him if you get a chance; the Goners are tighter than a gnat's butt, and Sonny Landreth is a wizard and a half...not to mention all those great songs.)

on another note: the SF Comicle reprinted a NY Times article by Eric Schmitt today, wherein Steven Hatfill denies having anything to do with the anthrax mailings. he is described as a germ weapons expert, and he appeared at the media feeding frenzy outside his lawyer's office in a natty suit, with an American flag pin in his lapel and a series of aggressive denials. "Without elaborating, Hatfill acknowledged that he had not led 'a perfect life', but said that his past was irrelevant to anything he is under scrutiny for now. 'It is a smoke screen calculated to obscure the fact that I, the current designated fall guy, have anything to do with the anthrax letters', he said. 'I acknowledge the right of the authorities and the press to satisfy as to whether I am the anthrax mailer. This does not, however, give them the right to smear me and gratuitously make a wasteland of my life in the process. I will not be railroaded.'
his attorney compared the case to that of Richard Jewell. the FBI has not ruled him out as a potential suspect.
