I think "Don't Look Back" is a great film about a very interesting character. You should keep in mind that Dylan was a young man still finding himself, tasting fame, and enjoying the spotlight. He had something to say and had been granted a chance to say it to a lot of people at once and the kid took the bull by the horns. I liked that. Sure he seemed arrogant, full of himself, and snotty but hey I'd hate to see films of myself in rare form at that age. I don't think the filmmaker glorified it he just shot what happened. You can watch plenty of old rock flicks and see the likes of The Stones, The Who, Zeppelin, Joe Cocker, etc...acting like a bunch of moronic assholes. I never thought these guys were geniuses just great musicains. Dylan's antics are tame next to them and at least you can see him thinking...and challenging his victims to do so as well. I always thought Roger Ebert was a putz anyway.
