As Reg, Dan, Andrea, Pat, Block, and everyone else have previously mentioned, I too found David's dedication and gratitude to all who gather here on the DBINFOSOURCE to be genuine and based upon love and the deep spirituality of the man's soul.
Unfortunately, as I had a long ride home, I couldn't spend as much time with David as some of you other lucky people did. But, David and I will have that long talk on another day, as a bar after a show is really not the place for an in-depth talk.
I found in the twenty minutes I spent with David, that he remembered many more things about me than I was prepared for. And to be honest with you, I was deeply touched that he did remember the small details.
David was very down to earth and he has no pretensions about who he is or what he is doing with his life. He seemed genuinely touched that Paula and I would drive 200 miles to see him play, and he even mentioned to me that he was a bit overwhelmed that so many of us from this website were going far out of our way to see him and his band.
He mentioned to me that all of us here mean a lot to him, and our support is why he keeps doing what he is doing.
Also, as all of you know, David has quite a bit more on the ball politicly, than most others in the public spotlight. He is well within a very small group of socially conscious musicians, such as I mentioned the other day.
He also cares very deeply about what is happening to this country and this world, and I would hope that when you turn others onto David's music, that you also include information on his political stance as well. This is because Mr. Baerwald is honestly trying to wake up those who are asleep, and who aren't paying attention to the strife all around them.
Please remember to pass along the message of TRIAGE, and particularly David's dedication on that album.
During our talk, I said to David that I felt lucky to have his music and message in my life, to which he replied that HE was the one who was lucky to have such dedicated and loving friends.
