I find it hypocritical that many people on both sides have flipped flopped positions, idealogy and power is more important to most than consistency, or so-called morals. The LA Times is just doing what newspapers have been doing since their inception, using scandal to sell papers. They went through Cruz Bustamante's (the Lt. Gov. and only high profile dem on the ballot) taxes with a fine tooth comb, gleefully pointing out his mistakes and another local paper the Fresno Bee ran a story on a federal-rent subsidized house he owns, it was not flattering either. CA papers, including the S.F. Chronicle and the Sac Bee regularly skewer Davis.
