So the good news is Mr. Baerwald is finally up off his arse playing some music. So there exists the possibility of him making some sort of appearence in the general vicinity of your wee little shire. Still though, it would seem a remote possibility at this point which will probably leave you vexed until you get a more definitive announcement of his plans. Here in Boston I'm wondering if he'll get out this far and if he does what will be the circumstance of his visit. Will he do a solo tour? Which would mean small clubs and guarantee us a real David Baerwald show. Will they piggyback him on to some larger tour as an opening act? Which would mean we'd get 45 minutes to an hour then be stuck with having to sit through whoever they may pair him up with or just walk out when he's done. Who makes these decisions anyway? The record company? It's probably too late for Lost Highway to put together some sort of traveling festival of their own artists for this summer. That would be interesting...Ryan Adams, Lucinda Williams, William Topley, Willie Nelson, David Baerwald...this would be creative marketing wouldn't it? Ahh, who knows. Probably best that you go round pissing in peoples tea kettles till you get your fix...whatever it may be. If you like jazz Mick I do recommend the following: Brad Mehldau's Trio and Keith Jarrett's Trio both came through Boston in the last month and all I can tell you is go see these guys. If you can't see them at least pick-up "Whisper Not" by the Jarrett Trio (Keith Jarrett, Gary Peacock, Jack DeJohnette) and "Progression: Art Of The Trio Vol. 5" by the Mehldau Trio (Brad Mehldau, Larry Grenadier, Jorge Rossy). When you are feeling woebegone and left out put one of these records on and see if it don't make you feel all brand new.
                            Cheers,
                                    Reg
