I know David said something about opening up for Ryan Adams who happens to be one of his Lost Highway labelmates and I wondered if anyone had listened to his newest record "Gold". If not it's worth checking out. Although like most people that have heard it you can play spot the influence on each track it's still a solid record. What caught my attention was his dead on  version of Van Morrison meets the Band doing "The Weight" on the track "Answering Bell". I love the song even with the nods to his heros. Hey I love Van and the Band so it's ok with me if he wants to borrow a bit. Also I should add as a musician there are only so many chord progressions you can toss together to create a rock song and I happen to love the progression he uses (as well as some of the others on the record) as much as he does.
