Caught a show by Poppa Chubby last night - awesome bluesman from NYC. He has a song called The NYC Blues, about how Gulliani is doing his damndest to close all of the local blues venues. Thirty are gone already, places that have been around for a quarter of a century or more being replaced by sub shops. Other guys in the band were saying they used to be able to stay home and work seven days a week if they wanted, but now there just aren't the gigs there once were.
I know you guys are all big music fans, so I hope you are getting out there and supporting live shows. Losing a favorite venue totally sucks! One of the best in Madison burned down last year, and the music scene hasn't been the same since.
