As I was watching all of the Memorial day celebrations this past weekend it occured to me how great and true a tribute Stranger is to the men and women who died in our many past wars. I could imagine the Today show playing it as they showed the typical scenes of parades and such around the nation. Certainly appropriate but somehow I think the line
"piled up like driftwood in the pouring rain" may be a little to stark for the folks at NBC. Truly an amazing and poetic song. I find quite often when I am actively brainwashing my pals to David's work that Stranger is the favorite. Anyway just some thoughts over coffee out in hear in the East. Good morning.......
