Icon David's music, etc.

Haven't visited this site in a long time, it always made my PC crash, anyway.....

- Over the years David's music has been a mainstay through my teenage years, college, and so on. I've always felt a deep connection to his music. While my peers thought it was the end of the world if their parents got divorced or they gained a few pounds, I just prayed that my dad wasn't going to be the top story on the local news that night and ruin my family's little charade.
Because of that, I felt a little isolated and connected with the characters in David's songs. Anyway, you can't let a horrible, mentally ill parent ruin your life and I haven't. My husband and I both consider ourselves survivors of those years. As I've gotten older, David's songs have evolved for me. They may have meant one thing to me when I was 16 and have a different meaning now that I turned 30.

So to close this long, rambling, too many details, slightly too personal message (sorry about that everyone, I rarely get personal).....I just wanted David to know that his music has had a profound impact on this white, middle class, midwestern girl's life too. Thanks.

(Wow, my first and only "fan letter".)
