Ive been listening to Before Bedtime quite a bit (thanks Dan and Greg for supporting a leaf on the tree) and comparing it to the released Bedtime Stories, my favorite DB album. Being able to listen to alternate versions like this forces me to listen to different things in these songs and really increases my appreciation of them.

I wonder though, what happened to the prominent steel guitar on Hello Mary and Hey Stranger? I liked the steel on them: it added to the lonely feel on Stranger. On Mary, the steel and fiddle worked together so nice, although they didnt mock each other as much as they could have. Was there any particular reason to give so much of the steel part to the fiddle on the Bedtime Stories version?
