I suppose sometimes simple truths can seem "trite" but that does not diminish the truth in them. When someone creates something is it important what the motivation is behind it's creation? You can ponder that I suppose for quite some time but you can't change whatever that motivation was once the creation has come into existance. You can only interpret the creation based on your own fixed perspective. I don't mean to say that ones perspective is permentantly fixed but it is defined by the course your life has taken thus far and may at any moment be redefined. So, for each of us as individuals we become the message. Sure sometimes one interpretation becomes the popular interpretation and is accepted by many but never by all. What is more important the creation itself, what motivated the creator, or what the creation inspires in each individual it touches? We know and accept, as a society, that so much in our world is created for the purpose of profit and is therefore disposable. What is the effect of this simple truth? That could take quite a while to answer (and should be well pondered) but has it created in some the idea that even we as human beings are disposable? Life is a transient gift but that does not make us disposable. So, it is important to understand that right now, in each fleeting moment of this glorious gift you are the message. You do not create the message, you are the message. No words, paintings, or music could compare in all their beauty or power to what you are. They are but tools of your soul. You are the message.
