I don't want to interrupt the political exchanges in here they are really very interesting for this Canadian boy, seeing as we have about half a dozen candidates running in our own federal election but that's not the point. I just picked up the new U2 cd and it's worth a listen. The production team of Brian Eno and Daniel Lanois return to the fold and the results are great. While not as groundbreaking as Radioheads' Kid A, U2 continues to reinvent themselves. The songs have a little more substance lyrically than their last CD "Pop" and a surprising return to Edges echo laden guitar sound. On a more commercial side I also grabbed the new Wallflowers cd and it also sounds pretty good.Theres still a lot of the Hammond B3 organ that was heard on their last cd.Overall tight musicianship and some maturing songwriting by Jakob Dylan ( god imagine living under that scrutiny) makes it a good listen.
