Regardless of our opinions I belive that we would all take time to clearly read through the voting paper and make sure we did it right. Agreed? Regardless of our political leanings, one of the basic underpinnings of an election is that you vote for *one* candidate. To my knowledge, it doesn't say "vote twice and we'll know what you really mean" Fair comment?
Regardless of how the popular vote is split, there are many millions who managed to vote just fine. If there are a handful of people who didn't bother to read the voting paper clearly then it's too late and too bad. The Democrats have a right to call for a re-vote, no problem. But then there are a number of States that the Republicans could call. The whole thing is still right up in the air. I also heard that California and Oregon are still too close to call, so GWB could still conceivably win both votes. Before anyone says "ah-ha he'll never win California" he might not. But his popular vote could be boosted.
The idea of a democratic vote (apparently) is that the people vote once. You then count the votes and make the decision based on that. One side doesn't keep hustling for a revote till they win.
