>>This is by no means an attack on Richard, I just need to >>get a few opinions off my chest and this seemed a good >>forum in which to do so.

Go ahead! If I can turn up and start venting I think it's more than fair that anyone else can.

>>Now I'm not an enormous Gore fan, but there are certain >>things I can't help but discuss. In regards to Lewinsky >>and Paula Jones, why on earth do you have a lower opinion >>of how Gore does his job based on the fact that his boss >>cheated on his wife?

It's not the issue of the infidelity it's more an issue of the dishonesty. The reason why Lazio can hammer Hillary is because she was an accesory to Bubba's lies. She firstly denied that it happened then admitted he was unfaithful.

The reason why Gore has been called on it is because on one hand he said Clinton was one of the greatest presidents of all time, now he seemingly wants nothing to do with him.

So because he went spinning for his boss after the guy was impeached, and then realised that it could loose him the election if he allows him on the same stage he's made himself look incredibly inconsistent.

>>My boss at work might have messed around with a few >>employees in his day, does that make me a bad worker?

If he holds a moral responsibility to a crowd of people and you go to them and lie through your teeth about him, yes. If you know that he could be on shaky ground so you stay the hell away, no.

>>As for "The Impeachment," I'd call that a shenanigan of >>Congress, not Clinton, and certainly not Gore. A guy >>cheats on his wife, and that's reason to try and fire him >>from his job? Hoo boy, I'd hate to see the unemployment >>lines if we did the same anywhere else.

He wasn't impeached because he was getting jiggly with some thong snapping intern, he was impeached because he perjured himself under oath. He was impeached because he committed a federal offence. (But he can't admit that either...)

If you speak to any psychologist or anyone who can read body language (armchair or otherwise!) then look at the footage of him giving testimony or him denying that either Paula Jones or Gennifer Flowers "weren't telling the truth" you'll know he was lying like hell.

>>As for the lies and exaggerations, ALL politicians who >>have any chance of winning are stuffed to the gills with >>lies and exaggerations... is George W. Bush truthful??? >>Fat chance of that! Neither is Gore, neither is Clinton, >>neither was Bush senior, Reagan, or anyone else who's >>made it anywhere in politics in the last century at >>least. They don't get elected if they don't lie; sad but >>true.

Fair point...

>>All that said, I don't particularly like Gore. His book >>on the environment proposed some fabulously radical >>plans, and now he's scared to death to discuss them, not >>to mention putting them into action. He's so afraid to do >>something that someone out there will dislike that he >>won't do much at all. Great idea, but no balls to carry >>them out.

So he should be the next president because.... =o)

>>Bush seems to have a bit more conviction in his own >>ideas. But when his own ideas include making Christian >>prayer in schools mandatory, weakening our already >>failing medical system, overturning Roe v. Wade, >>requiring so many standardized tests to make >>schools "accountable" that teachers are stuck teaching >>students how to pass tests, and other similar options...

I get the impression you've been listening to the criminal liberal media! I won't turn this into a party political broadcast, but PLEASE don't listen to the way the opposition has demonized him. If you can find *Republican* evidence that holds out any of the above (not any of the Democratic scare-mongering) then I'll *seriously* re-evaluate my position. Other than that, just stick to the facts.

Here are somethings to consider....If the top 1% of the taxpayers pay over 40% of the current tax burden - and if Bush gets in they be paying even more why is Mr Gore being so undemocratic about whether they are deserving of tax relief? Don't the top 1% actually deserve to get the tax break back in relation to the tax they paid or is Gore a closet Commie?

Regarding vouchers - Gore sent his kids private....why is he objecting to the majority getting a break into the private school system? Is he being undemocratic again?

>>Well, I'd rather have someone wishy-washy than someone >>with such incredibly harmful convictions.

If AG is also a pathological exaggerator who consorts with the Russians to allow them to sell arms to Iran, why are those inclinations any less harmful? Are you saying that Middle East threats to the USA are of no issue but praying in school is! Why does our money say "In God We Trust"?

>>Anyway, that's my stance on the whole thing. I'm also >>incredibly fed up with our two-party system, but as I'm >>in a state where the race is very close, I'll stick with >>Gore.

The choice seems to be between a 60 watt bulb and a pathological liar. If you want a revolution, the best hope you'd have is to vote Ralph Nader. He can bring positive influence in on the ground level and keep both the right and the left honest.

As the British songwriter Billy Bragg said, when you Americans vote in your president you're voting in a president for the world. IMO however you might dislike Bush and have your opinion coloured by scare mongering, he'll do a better job keeping the show on the road till Nader delivers the revolution he's promising.

Thanks for your comments...I'd be interested to hear feedback on my feedback

Richard
