The talk used to always be of dark money in politics. The ability to secretly pour money into a campaign so the public did not know that billionaires were buying a candidate. Now, they all just brag about it openly, the Republicans and Trump are absolutely proud to announce to the world they are bought and paid for, everything is for sale, as long as they get their cut and are allowed to hold on to power. 

Musk is not at all hiding he is buying power, owns Trump, owns what was once the Republican party. He just says it and literally told everybody, including the MAGA voters, to go fuck themselves. There is no more hiding at all. There is basically just this odd open joy that these politicians brag about the fact they are servants of the billionaire class. 

And somehow, people, regular people, celebrate this...or have been so far. 

What has been going on down at Mar-a-Lago is a total circus, or really, I guess a circus combined with an auction, combined with a carnival freak show. It is hard to comprehend that people wanted this.
