That's a book I've been meaning to get to as well. Thanks for putting that out here, Peter. In a previous thread I threw out the idea that the prizing of intellectual integrity could be a prevailing counterforce to b.s. David responded, likely accurately, that the time has passed for this. However, I still do wonder if over time people will tire over indifference to the truth and crave something more. Since we've seen what happens when you try to run races on the moral high ground, It would take an effective politician to find the right language and concepts to mobilize that energy; selling the sizzle rather than the steak.
