I've stayed off social media since Tuesday trying to wrap my head around what has happened. What I have discerned from various sources follows.
1.) Something does not add up. There are rumblings of fraud and discrepancies from a lot of disparate places - taken in isolation these rumblings do not amount to much, taken together though... But we need EVIDENCE. not conjecture, not conspiracy but hard cold evidence. We have 2 months.
2.) We are seeing the effects of the election and subsequent economic collapse already. Layoffs and rushed buying in the business sector due to the threat of tariffs have begun and will only accelerate.
2a.) The Republicans are holding up the funding for the Chips Act, hoping to change the grants to Intel for the Columbus, Ohio plant to tax credits. Intel will not like this and can just walk away - they are a multi national behemoth with enough resources that the plant can be relocated anywhere in the world they can get a favorable deal. Or scrap the plant altogether and keep supplies low and prices high (with tariffs). Either way the Columbus plant is dead.
3.) The House of Representatives is still unknown. There is a slim hope, but I'm not gonna hold my breath.
4.) If tRump does get in I will pray that he stays healthy. For as much as I think he is a disaster, JD Vance is much worse. This is where my post on Curtis Yarvin comes in. Vance is an acolyte of Yarvin's. Both Yarvin and Vance are funded by Peter Theil. That is a massively unholy trinity, and God help us if Trump dies.
5.) Personal note. I woke up Wednesday to a family group text. My 5 year old nephew was in the hospital, Diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes. While life altering and I sympathize with the child and parents, it's not a death sentence. My Immediate concerns are eliminating Sugar and High Glycemic carbs from my Thanksgiving hosting spread (Impulse Control is not in a 5 year old's vocabulary) and whether I should wear SAP gloves when I bitch slap my Republican family members the moment they start to complain about the cost of insulin.
Andi, I hope you are doing alright, but I can picture you curled up in the fetal position wrapped tightly in a blanket. Keep a good thought - we can get through this.
