Icon A Tip of the Hat to EEE, Andi, and MJG, and what's up with The Fire Agent?

Thank you for keeping the conversations going here. I'm listening, just not sharing of late as I'm hunkering down, trying to avoid any news of polls, basically just wanting this over, with a win for us of course! Here in New Hampshire, Trump has basically conceded as his team pretty much pulled out. In all likelihood, our two congress people will be Democrats. The concern is over the new governor. Our former GOP Senator, Kelly Ayotte, is in a real dogfight and I would so love for her to go down in defeat.

We have the standard lawn sign, of course, but I thought it didn't adequately express our outrage over the Dobbs decision and our fears for the further erosion of women's healthcare rights, and yes, I'm happy to be more explicit, ABORTION RIGHTS! I'm absolutely delighted to say it in the faces of Evangelical America! God, they are a pathetic bunch of dangerous nitwits!  So... I purchased another sign on Amazon in order to inform the neighbors of where we stand. It says "Vote like your daughter's rights depend on it. " Perhaps I'm naive, but I have to think it will give someone pause, if only for a moment, and perhaps consider the issue more deeply. This is of a piece with a bumpersticker I slapped on the car a few months ago, "Extraordinary Claims Require Extraordinary Evidence."

On the reading front, I'm slowly making my way through the latest Steven Pinker book, "Rationality: What it is, Why it Seems Scarce, Why it Matters. Me thinks the problem of humanity's irrationality isn't leaving us anytime soon, and I recognize that I too have my moments of irrationality, perhaps more than I'd care to admit.

We just saw a decent film called "Lee" which tells the story of WW ll photojournalist, Lee Miller. I'd give it a B+.

We're finally getting around to watching the great 90s British cop show, "Cracker", with the magnificent Robbie Coltrane. Damn, the man had such presence, and talent!

Again, thanks for keeping things going, especially EEE, and I'll be back soon enough. We just have to defeat this dangerously ignorant man-child, and the sinister forces who support him.

Oh, and one final question. What's up with The Fire Agent? Aside from David's site, I just can't find any reference to it.
