Icon Another open question for everybody...

So, leading up to this presidential campaign, AI was a big concern for many people. How it could be used to influence and manipulate people. I've seen many examples of AI imagery being used, mainly in an effort to boost Trump with various groups. Although Donald himself did post some of these on his social media feed, like the "Swifties for Trump" image which was rapidly debunked, I don't think anything huge happened involving AI. Or did I miss anything.

I was thinking about this because I saw another AI generated image of Trump wading through flood waters in a life vest recently. It was pretty ridiculous, considering he does not like to get wet, but I don't think the image influenced anybody. I guess there could be elderly people that would believe Trump waded into flood waters, but I think most savvy people would recognize the fake.

So, my question to everybody is this, as we are in the final 35 days or so of this election cycle, do you think AI played a part in influencing people and to what degree?

I mean, to me it seems it likely did not play much of a part in things. That would be my answer, and I think the things I did see where pretty obviously fake. The biggest incident seemed to be when Trump posted the image of Swift fans supposedly endorsing him with the comment "I accept." which was rapidly debunked when Swift endorsed Harris/Walz. So, I think that ended up probably just having a negative impact on the Trump campaign.

What do you guys think though? Was AI a factor? What incidents would you cite as having an impact?
