I listened to some of his Dick Cavett interviews and to his last interview. What I find to be gobsmacking is that Hendrix was only 28 when he died. 28. When I think back to what I was doing when I was 28 (having just a year or 2 before that figured out what I wanted to do when I grew up) and here Hendrix and Janis Joplin and so many others left this earth at that age and left us music which has stood the test of time. And then there are others who did so much by that age but kept on giving us more and continue to astound us with each new work of artistry like, oh, IDK, David for example. ;)
