This, in a way, is related to the mass shootings carried out by the very young of killers.
First, let me make this clear - when these things happen, my first thoughts are of the victims, especially the children. But at the same time, when I see pictures of these young killers, it makes me think of how at one time these young people were basically loved and malleable but that something went wrong somewhere and how do we work to prevent how a child can grow into a mass killer. Of course, their homes may have been horrific and filled with abuse, but my point is that at one point, these young people weren't killers.
So, to what has been on my mind lately.
Back in 1995, we had this 11-year-old boy murdered by his 14-year-old playmate. This eleven-year-old was a terror to the neighborhood and that is sugar-coating it and his name was "Rockhead." The killing was believed to have resulted from rough play that became too rough and that the 14-year-old was defending himself.
His father was absent and his mother a prostitute with the sad thing being he was once taken out of his home and sent to live with foster parents who treated him well, but his mother later regained custody.
Now, when I say he was a terror, this was to everyone - social workers, citizens, the police, the courts, everyone. Everyone was also in great worry of what this boy would be like when he hit his teen and adult years. And I emphasize this point because after he was killed, there was this sigh of relief from many people. THAT is how bad his behavior was, but they were also relieved knowing they would not have to worry about this boy as an adult.
My point in this story is, I find it so incredibly sad how we sort of miss all these signs by either purposeful commission, ignorance, or just not giving a shit. And then later, when these young people do bad and horrible things, their public demonizing seems to be just enough salve to ease our outrage, rather than making us really figure out what can be done to prevent all of this.
I mean, I see the image of that young man that shot Trump and after the initial horror, then move on to, HOW has this been allowed to have happened? How did this kid become weaponized? Who missed the signs on this kid? And when are we as a nation really going to start examining these issues logically and do something about them, rather than blurt out how they are just a "fact of life."
And PS...this is why I do not believe the Trump shooting was fake or staged - I think of that one cop who climbed up on the roof just before this kid started firing and after being unable to stop the shooting, that cop must be going through a horrible time all across the board. That cop is going to carry that for the rest of his life and so is the entire law enforcement community. NO cop would want to be that cop.
Lastly, I don't think the majority of people grasp what an enormous operation it is to protect a political person, especially in today's times. However, it would not surprise me if later we learn that the US Secret Service agents, and other LE personnel protecting Trump that day were not of the highest of tiered agents and personnel.
Last lastly, and for those that say Trump was not hit by a bullet - just put them in the Black Helicopter bracket because that, too, is horseshit. He was hit by a bullet. I saw a posting the other day where the person was trying to appear to be wise about forensics and was claiming all kinds of shit that was just untrue (like the speed of the bullet would burn his ear or the velocity of the bullet would cause a concussion or tear his ear off - all of that his horseshit and does or does not have to happen).
Let me put it to you all this way - anything can or can not happen with firearms. One never says "always" or "never" when it comes to them. I have seen where a person who had been shot point blank with a 9mm right in the forehead who was sitting and talking when I got there - the bullet hit at an angle, barely tore his flesh, and went straight up and out the roof of the house).
I also saw where a man was shot in the head with a 357 and only lost a part of his scalp - it was left on the parking lot.
Then, another time, I saw where a woman was shot in the legs with a tiny 22 and had the largest leg exit wounds I had ever seen for a 22.
And this is even true - one time a man shot himself five times with a 22 cal pistol, twice in the head, with only the heart shot finally killing him (this was witnessed in real-time - otherwise, it would never have been believed).
Also, ear wounds, even minor ones, can bleed profusely (so can head wounds).
Shit....this all got me running on....
