Yes! This is all the talk in all of my political groups whether they are local, state, or national! Many people from around this area have been going down to Atlanta to try to speak at the meeting for this newly formed Election Board. This iteration of the EB has no representation on it by the Secretary of State, or at least he has no say in anything that they do. This law was passed after 2020 and the election lies and just goes to show you, again, that Brad Raffensburger is NO HERO. He only did what his job duties prescribed that he do in the phone call with the Tangerine Weirdon (TW). IF he had been a hero, he would have stood up the the Republicans in the GA legislature  and said "NO WAY! No way am I going to support the SOS having nothing to do with the Election Board."

Anyway, I think the MAGAt legislature was able to appoint the 3 majority board members; dems got to appoint one (and she is excellent) and maybe "Brine" Kemp got to appoint the chair so at least Dem and (republican) chair are sane. So yes, the MAGAt "Bulldogs" have the majority and just pass whatever they want. This week, a group sued the board saying that those three are not impartial as TW called them out by name in his rally.

I spoke to our Paulding Dems Election Board Member and our Liaison and they filled me in on some interesting information about the new rules. One rule says that each day during early voting AND on Election Day, every ballot scanned must be counted and compared to the number of voters that were logged into the system basically. These 2 numbers should match as there should be a ballot scanned per voter. Every count ever done previously, has not shown in discrepancy and if it did, the discrepancy was somehow accounted for.

So this one new rule doesn't sound too terribly much like an imposition, EXCEPT that one of the counties ran a test of this rule over 3 primary election cycles this past spring to figure out how much extra manpower this task would take. Interpolating from the date the other county got, Paulding County would have to hire 132 EXTRA people JUST to do this extra count. That is not extra HOURS. That is extra PEOPLE that would have to be hired to get that count completed by the Monday after the election. When Deidre Holden, Paulding's Election Supervisor and former chair of the state association of all Election Supervisors, was explaining the need for 132 extra people to do this count to the Paulding Elections Board, one of the TW's "Bulldogs" was visiting and heard this number about an unfunded mandate. Small counties like Paulding and much much smaller, poorer counties all around Georgia just don't have to funds to hire more people to do this. I guess this "Bulldog" didn't care though, because a few days later all 3 of them voted to pass this rule.

Really GOOD news I thought though came out yesterday. The committee that Deidre Holden used to be a Chair on for all GA Election Board Supervisors, just had everyone on the board sign a letter to the GA Elections Board asking them to PLEASE not pass any more rules for this election because they have already developed their training materials and have started training poll workers and election staff. Also, they are afraid voters will lose faith in election results (Nooooooo! Really?????) Haven't heard a reply from the State Elections board yet but it will probably be some form of FU. The really weird thing is that MOST of the counties in GA are red so most of the Supervisors and thus members of that committee are Republicans. And they're the ones saying WHOA! Slow down there buddy!

Any way, here is a Vice News report that I found after the 2020 election with Paulding's VERY Republican Election Supervisor in it. She voted for TW 2 times I'm pretty sure, put she is not at ALL happy with all of the election law changes that have been made since 2020.  In fact, she does not like them at all. In this video, it talks about serious threats that she and the Paulding County Election Office and I believe some polling locations got on Election Day 2020. Meanwhile the Poll Workers, all of us who were poll watching, and voters, and totally oblivious to these threats....
