Sorry for the confusion....
I used Jackson Browne and Steven Van Zandt as analogies to try and illustrate that, while for me, the tone of politics here has grown harsh and creates issues within myself, that oftentimes sites or forums restrict topics to avoid such things, however, to do so is to ignore how important such topics are to people and to restrict them, disregards that aspect of the person or topic.
That is why I used a Jackson Browne fan site as an example - to become a member, you have to promise only to discuss his music and not to discuss politics or certain other musicians in Browne's orbit.
So the point I tried to make was, rather than banning or prohibiting discussion or trying to mold a site in a way that cuts away the wild free expression, especially of a place like this one, the best way is for the individual to decide on how much participation one decides is best and that is the route I'm going to try and take.
This life is just too short to wallow in misery every single minute....it's time to find the good stuff.
