I certainly screwed the prediction pooch on this one, but that is A-ok. I really thought this was going to be a mistrial because of a single holdout. Never did I anticipate guilty verdicts on ALL counts.
And one thing that this again reinforces - again - is that spectators never know the entire story when it comes to jury trials, nor what a jury focuses on and apparently, the evidence they saw was more than ample for a conviction.
Two observations - the first is to note the pre-verdict giddyness of MAGA when it was reported one of the jurors was making doe eyes at the Trump team about a day before deliberations began. They were all in on an acquittal and thought they had it in the bag.
Next, note how people in MAGA Cult land will gloss over how the judge instructed the jury that they could not convict solely on Cohen's testimony alone. My point in that is the legal pundits have pointed out that Pecker's testimony was more damaging than Cohen's and if one watches, MAGA is focusing on the easiest target for maximum benefit. But think of that - in a way, Merchan did them a huge favor and it still ended in 34 felony convictions.
