I've grown quite fond of certain movies that put me in comfortable places.  For example, I've grown quite fond of Tarantino's Once Upon a Time in.....Hollywood because it puts me in a whimsical mode of "what if" the atmosphere of 1969 and the nation going forward could have been changed and what it would have meant to American society.

My girls don't understand the appeal this film has on me. 

Or, this goofy Southern Comfort ad down below that uses Odetta's Hit or Miss -that's posted down below, too.

I watch this ad and it puts me in a mood of how great this country could be if we let people just be themselves and to me, this is what this ad wonderfully portrays in its simple nuances.  Yes, where an overweight man in a speedo can walk down the beach in full confidence to be genuine. I love the reaction of the couple who lost their dog to this guy and how he earlier steps over a man resembling Picasso.  Then, the richness of the shoulder tip to the young man and two young women.  And the fact that the guy is wearing dress shoes on the beach!  Lastly, near the end, I love the look of the young lady on the beach blanket watching the man as he strolls on by with his drink.

And this is one of those messages I am trying to impress on our girls - go through life enjoying life and damn all those who impede it and mainly by just ignoring them and being one's self and always be able to accept those keys to life wherever they may be found because some of them may include watching a chubby guy with a pornstach stroll down a beach in a pair of shorts that just may reveal a bit too much.
