Do not be fooled by western defeatist media. Yes Putin has (at great cost!) managed to gain a sort of control over the eastern 20 % of Ukraine (5 % of which he had already been fighting a civil war for, for over 10 years). Personally I do not think that he is going to get much further, and he has pretty much lost his control over the entire black sea around Crimea. It is not going well for him, and sanctions are working in a lot of areas - not all but still... As soon as Ukraine get those damn artillery shells delivered, that they have been promised for ages, then they are gonna move down Ruskies in droves again ;-)
