I think Clark will be the great hope for the Democrats if his handlers do a good job preparing him for what he's about to do. Plain spoken, he'll play well on tv (ok, that may seem dumb but it's a huge factor), despite his lack of political credentials he served his country for many years and no other candidate can touch him in that regard. The rest of the Democrats were mired together and seemed lost...Clark brings serious leadership to the table and perhaps the greatest understanding of what needs to be achieved in this absolute joke of a "War On Terror". Who better to step up and lead at a time like this than a guy that's been a leader for so long? Of all the candidates he does posess the greatest potential for putting Bush & Company in their place...and an ugly smear campaign against him may only serve to make Republicans look worse. One thing is for certain...Clark will take no bullshit from anyone and why should he.
Despite the fact that Bushco's numbers are down before Clark stepped into the race none of the Democrats left the Republican's shaken. This guy is going to make them nervous. So, as I see it, I think that if Clark teams with Kerry or Dean as his VP, the Dems will really have a great chance to take back the White House. Imagine the debates Clark vs Bush and Kerry/Dean vs Cheney. That's must see TV right there as Peter might put it.
As for funding and experiance being issues for Clark, come on be serious...the money will show up from the left wing when they see the chance to take back the White House and in the experiance department...who's credentials look better Bush or Clark? It's no contest really.
Bush won't repair the economic issues before election time so he's a loser on that front and the "War On Terror" has devolved into an out of control travesty that even putting on his flight suit and landing on another aircraft carrier to declare "VICTORY" can't fix. So even if Bush and Cheney do a campaign commercial where they dance naked on the White House lawn with Saddam and Osama's heads on a stick...they are in trouble. Now Democrats won't have to worry about Kerry confusing the shit out of the voters or Dean being a loose cannon. Clark is the ace in the hole and the guy that is most likely to give Bush the bum's rush he so dearly deserves.
