It's criminal the way psychedelics were shelved and criminalized 50+ years ago. So much time was wasted that could have been spent perfecting their use to help a myriad of psychological problems and more. I fall under the 'and more' category. In my case, it's Cluster Headaches; a debilitating condition that sidelines me with severe headaches for about a month at a time. Treatment for them is prednisone (50-80 mg daily in my case) as a prophylactic, Imitrex, and O2 breathed through a special facemask to help abort a headache. In the past few years, many people with my condition have been turning to psilocybin (magic mushrooms) for relief. The headaches showed up again a few months ago and I was prepared. I had grown my own mushrooms and didn't hesitate to use them as suggested. I don't particularly care for the psilocybin high but after my 3rd dose, they worked and stopped the headaches. Plus, there was no need to taper off of prednisone—a process that leaves me with a long-lasting case of the blues and general malaise that can last for months.

I watched these films on Netflix recently (I believe they're available on YouTube as well). They're both very informative and worthwhile viewing.
