I didn't read Mitt Romney's autobiography, but I did see an excerpt in which he muses on human government through the ages and was disconsolate at the ever-present repetition of tyranny throughout the ages—that the vast majority of time in which humans have inhabited the earth was under one form of tyranny or malevolent monarchy or another. That as capital gravitates toward capital, so does power gravitate toward power.
