Hi folks,
You simply must check out John Cooke's website, and see the photos. They are an amazing document of an era. Click on the rock and pop musicians of the 60's and select your favorite. They are all amazing photos; dig the Jimi Hendrix SOUNDCHECK before he ever emerged on stage at his US debut at Monterey Pop. Wow!!
The only thing I have seen to rival/complement these are Linda McCartney's collection. It's apparent that John is more into the folk/bluegrass musicians, owing, I suppose in part to his own musicianship. Dig the photos of a young Doc Watson, the Dillards, Dave van Ronk, Bob Dylan...I mean, "I'm like freakin' out..y'know!".
P.S. Mimi Farina was Joan Baez' sister. (I'm a dummie, didn't know till now).
Later, Taters,
Gene
