I've tried to educate myself about the struggles that both sides have had to endure but I continue to come back to the understanding that simple people are living a slow-motion terrorism at the hands of the IDF as their land and livelihoods are taken from them and they're helpless to stop it. I know it seems too simplistic but listening to Gabor kind of confirms my thoughts about it. I'm afraid that by sympathizing with the Palestinians, I'm coming off as being ignorant about the plight of Jews in the region. Eugene (forum member) distanced himself from me a number of years ago because I was voicing this same sort of concern. I think he felt I was being antisemitic but that wasn't it at all.
