It's a bit of a pain to read "behind" the subscribe box, but worth your time. 

This article neatly lays out how information can spread globally at a breakneck pace, intentionally terrifying the public, all to serve the agenda of an individual, organization, or movement. I've had a sense for the process but this eloquently and concisely summarizes it all.  

You may recall that I collect quotes, hundreds of them. Here's one from David Hume that we should all be mindful of.

"In our reasonings concerning matters of fact, there are all imaginable degrees of assurance, from the highest certainty to the lowest species of moral evidence. A wise man therefore proportions his belief to the evidence."
