For one thing, what I think Trump allowed is for these MAGA people to feel it is okay to publicly opine their beliefs and more importantly, to be made to feel there is nothing wrong with how they feel and believe.

I keep telling people that one of Trump's greatest traits (even though it too is a scam) is how he has persuaded his followers that he will fight for them to the end, which people with sincere conscious thought know he will fold as soon as there is a conflict with his own personal gains and his followers.

Secondly, as time moves forward (and it may take decades to palpably feel the changing demographics in the US) the MAGA crowd is going to continue to feel they are losing power and influence in America and all things white, which will lead to even more entrenched and rigid beliefs. The scary thing to me is how I feel they will even pick up more members as Americans truly start to vote based on tribe rather than political beliefs.

I think the Paul Pelosi story is a perfect example of how far these people are willing to go when it comes to truth.  I mean, there was a day when one hundred percent of Washington politicians would have resoundingly denounced what happened but look at what is going on - MAGA is now blaming him for his attack and continuing to push forward vile rumors even though it is clear what happened.

We are in trouble.  Personally, my belief what is going to happen if the Dems lose Congress is that we are going to have two years of a wacky, do nothing extreme congress and in 2024 the Dems will do very, very well and recapture the Congress and keep the Whitehouse.  I think Trump will run again and he will lose resoundingly if the Dems put up a credible opponent.

And if Trump does run again, his MAGA people will win him the nomination in the primaries.
